It Has To Be Hyuk
Last year, when Eunhyuk guested in MBC's Fantasy Couple, us fans got a glimpse of how he viewed himself in Super Junior. The interview went a little bit like this:
MBC Fantasy Couple 2009
Little Girl: In Super Junior, who is the most good-looking?
Eunhyuk: Must I say it honestly? I think I'm number 1.
Little Girl: How about Kangin oppa?
Eunhyuk: Kangin hyung is a little bit at the back.
Little Girl: What about singing?
Eunhyuk: Oppa is a rapper. I'm probably number 12 out of 13.
Hyukjae was the guy who rarely got any singing lines in songs and was known to be the "Singing Hole" (Parallel to Kyuhyun being a 'Dancing Hole') in the group. He was the dancer and the main rapper, that was that. He didn't belt out high notes like Kyuhyun, Yesung and Ryeowook did, and if it wasn't for Sukira, us fans would never have been familiar with his singing voice. It wasn't until recently that Hyukjae started to come out of his singing shell. Songs like Good Person and My Only Girl gave us Hyukjae fans who were dying for some Hyuk singing goodness a pleasant surprise <3
Suddenly, Hyuk was singing more confidently on Sukira, and was just generally more comfortable singing. A lot of Hyukjae fans (myself included) got to thinking that maybe he took voice lessons, because his improvement was noticeable. We looked forward to the Pretty Action Quiz in Sukira, and half-wished that the people who'd call in would fail in their attempts, just so that Hyukjae would have to sing the lines all over again. He appeared on 1000 Songs Challenge, and JABJVBADKJB it was just SO adorable seeing him all jittery and nervous around two seasoned singers. (Yesung and Ryeowook)
Then, he gives us this.
No lie, when I saw this, I cried. Everything about this performance -- from Jungsoo's suspense-ridden intro, Hyuk's stretches, Hyuk facing the wall everytime there'd be a high note, Jungsoo helping him out, to him whispering the last notes from embarrassment and Jungsoo clapping like a proud umma -- was imperfectly imperfect. Hyuk's voice croaked at one point or two but to me, that's what made it so special. He's a work in progress, but his effort and his heart was in the moment and you could totally see that he was pushing himself and challenging himself to deliver. It also emphasizes one of the traits I love most about Hyuk: He never gives up. He doesn't stop at mediocrity (which was also why he quit Star King and Dream Team, which is to pursue and further his dancing) and really strives to reach his full potential. So it wasn't about him singing yet another song in Sukira, or that he was just doing fanservice. It was so much more than that, and him pushing through with it (because he didn't HAVE to sing, but he did) showed commitment and passion to better himself. He's walking proof that practice makes perfect, and that through hard work and perseverance, one can truly improve and become great at something. That's what made it so beautiful, to me.
I finally got to understand why Kyuhyun fans were so ecstatic that he started joining the main dancers in promotions and during dance battles. In that same respect, I can also understand why some Kyuhyun fans felt offended when Sungmin fans questioned his place in the dancing bridge of Bonamana. It's different, refreshing, and extremely exciting when your bias goes out of their comfort zone and does something else. (like Hyuk singing, or Kyu dancing) It's even more of a treat when that bias becomes good at their waterloo, and you end up beaming like a proud mom because they've come a long way since debut. Hyukjae has come a long way since the pre-debut video of him singing and rapping alternately, and I couldn't be more proud ♡

Super Junior > 13
But they made it, they won awards and soared to the top of Korean charts, against all the odds, and are now considered legends in their own right. (because you gotta admit, they play in a different field and are a league all on their own)
People on Twitter and generally in the fandom are abuzz with the news about a new debut group with 17 members debuting.. some are afraid that they'll be a threat to Super Junior and that they'll kick them off their 'biggest group' title.
But you know what? It's not about the number anymore. At one point, it was, and it was such a novelty to have so many members. But somewhere along the way a long time ago, Super Junior stopped being just the boy group with the most members, but so much more than that. They grew to be well-rounded entertainers with different talents and successful in their respective fields. They've become so much more than just a 13-member boy group, and as cliche' as it sounds, they've become a family, of sorts.
A number has, and always will be, just a number. It doesn't guarantee anything: not fame, not success, not the thousands of fans SJ has in Korea and overseas. I don't think ELF should be worried at all, because it's really easy to become the largest idol group - just add more members than Super Junior. Sure, they may have more members, but so what? :) What Super Junior is now, how respected and established they are in the industry, and how loved they are in the international market, are things that can't be taken away just like that.
Super Junior's strength is not measured by their number, but rather, measured by their heart. And we all know the boys have got the biggest hearts, no doubt, so no worries :)

Day 2: Your Favorite OTP
Most Hyukjae fans would pick EunHae in a heartbeat, mainly because they're the closest thing to being a real, romantic couple. I have fandom friends who actually wish the boys were together in real life and gay for each other.. but I just don't dig the whole boy to boy romantic pairings. More of a personal preference, really :) To be honest, I actually avoid pairings to any romantic level altogther, and shudder at the thought of reading smut between the Super Junior members. I know that some people enjoy reading smut fics, and that's perfectly okay. It's just not my cup of tea, that's all :)
Now that I've established that I don't like shipping SJ members together romantically, I'll go on by saying that there is not just one couple I 'ship.' There are so many couples I love together but the one that surpasses them all for me is EunTeuk.
The thing about the EunTeuk couple is that they're always together and yet, people never ship them romantically. I think it's because their relationship is purely brotherly and any romantic connection between them would just be plain wrong >.< Incest, anyone? XD What I love about these two is that they're like two peas in a pod. I feel like Jungsoo's the big brother Hyukjae tries to emulate the most, and Jungsoo's sort of taken Hyuk under his wing. They depend on each other, in a way that is different from the other members. I love EunTeuk also because I'm in love with both Hyukjae and Jungsoo ♥
Photos shared to me by fellow EunTeuk shipper and Jungsoo's wifey, Jafie :)

This Is Why We Need Subtitles
I'm not Charice's biggest fan, and I wasn't even long before I was an ELF. I never liked that she mimics her singing heroes (if it wasn't obvious enough, Whitney Houston and Celine Dion) down to the runs and even their gestures when they sing. I found her to be awfully smug in interviews and just generally, not a very likable person. My uncle and his friends (they're airline pilots) have had many chances to meet her when traveling abroad, and in many instances, Charice was, to put simply, conceited. What is most upsetting is that it's almost as if any Filipino who doesn't support Charice (or kiss the ground she walks on) is pegged to be 'jealous' or someone who has a crab mentality. It's almost as if it's a treason to not like her, which stands in stark contrast to Western music, where it's perfectly alright to not be a fan of an artist who is from the same country.

Long Overdue
I was never able to fully sort out my feelings for Hangeng. Some days, I'm angry at him for not giving the other members a heads up, on others, I feel sorry for everything he's gone through and feel like he's in a better place. Sometimes I can't even bring myself to look at his new pictures, even though I say I support him.
Lately I've been at a loss for what exactly it was I was feeling. I've been so confused, because I SAY I support him, but whenever news of him crops up, my face doesn't light up like it does when it's news about Hyukjae, or the other members. I know I'm supposed to be happy for him, like any good ELF should be. I'm not supposed to sigh and furrow my brow after seeing his concert posters, or seeing photos of him rehearsing. I'm supposed to grin and smile at my computer screen and be able to say wholeheartedly, "I'm happy you're happy."
... But I'm not happy. I do not jump for joy when he releases a new song, and I don't squeal in delight whenever there's a new photo or show he guests in. I am not happy, because it still hurts. A lot.
But that's not to say I hate him, because I don't. I do support him, and I want what is best for him and I want him to be able to work towards the dreams and goals he has set for himself. But right now, I'm still not quite over him officially pursuing a solo career, and it hurts to see him apart from Super Junior.
You can call me 'selfish' or whatever derivative of the word; Maybe I am, maybe I'm not. All I know is that I've invested way too much heart, emotion and energy into loving this Korean group, that it's still painful, even after 6 months. So I'm not quite ready to say 'I'm happy for you, Geng.' Because it's hard, it's not the truth.. because I know it's still freaking painful for the members, no matter how much they try to mask their true feelings. I do support him, and of COURSE I want him to do AMAZING with his new solo career. Just give me a few more months and I'll be able to say, wholeheartedly, that I'm happy for him.

Eunhyuk, Are You Sick?
I feel terrible looking at these photos. He's perspiring so much and that's not something that usually happens to him... Sure, he sweats during performances but not to the point that his face is glazed with perspiration. Last week in Inkigayo, he was sweating so much that his whole neck was matted with it, and it was already soaking through his crew-neck shirt. I may be overanalyzing things (like always) but IDK, I can't help but think he's sick or something. I mean, he hasn't been completely himself lately so maybe it has a correlation? (Lol, I sound so stupid overanalyzing everything. But he's lost some weight, too.)
I don't know, what do you think? :(

Day Twelve
Day 12: The first K-Pop song you ever heard
Answer The Phone by Mina
This video brings back such memories! XD I remember the first time I saw it on TV I was baffled by the lyrics and was confuzzled at how anyone could memorize such difficult lyrics, lol 8D Hey, at that time I was into F4 and the lyrics to their songs were all just one syllable. XD
Day Eleven
Day 11: Your favorite K-Pop Music Video
First of all, I'm answering a LOT of the K-Pop meme days' categories now because I already want to start on the 30-day Super Junior meme. I'm Super Junior biased so you get my drift ;) Anyway I have four favorite Music Videos.
1. Best Drama: Lee Hyori's Chitty Chitty Bang Bang
From the video, you can tell that they set aside a lot of budget making it. I loved it because it had so many scenes, and it was very complex with a lot of drama. I didn't get bored a single second watching it. :D Plus, her outfits were outrageous! Gotta love Lee Hyori ;)
2. Best Dancing: Boa's Eat You Up
I saw BoA's Eat You Up a LONG time ago and I was just blown away by how cool she was, lmao XD But seriously, her dancing is just so amazing. She's the best female dancer in K-Pop, in my opinion, because she can execute steps without looking slutty haha 8D The MV itself was building up to the bridge area till the end, it had lots of drama as well and very entertaining :)
3. DBSK's Mirotic
This MV and song is just extremely addicting, and everything about DBSK just seems otherworldly. Like SJ, they're in a completely different league of their own and they don't have to do all the electronic effects and flashing lights in the middle most new groups debut with. Sad to say, this was the first video I ever saw of theirs and I feel bad that I hadn't discovered them earlier. :(
4. Super Junior's It's You
This was tough because I'm in love with so many of SJ's videos (due to the different emotions it imparts) but then I love It's You the most. <3 Do I have to explain myself? Everything in the video's just perfect. Plus, it's the last MV where they were all complete.
Day Ten
Day 10: A K-Pop Dance You'd Like To Learn
I'd really like to learn either Don't Don or Man In Love. Those two songs are so well choreographed, and every moment there is something exciting going on. It's also my SJ pride talking because the members themselves made the powerful dance for Don't Don.
Back when I didn't care for SJ, in 2008, I was watching the MTV Movie Awards on the television and I saw them dance Man In Love. At that time, I was supposed to choreograph a dance for our pep squad, and the bridge after they "Go Down To The Basement" inspired me so much that I searched for Super Junior on Youtube because it was THAT awesome. XD Still, the dance wasn't enough to get me hooked on Super Junior because it was only in June of 2009 that I got into them. I'll say to my defense though, in 2008 I was into rock and alternative, so Super Junior songs really weren't my style. Ugh, regret. 8D
Day Nine
Day Nine: Your favorite K-Pop Performance
I can't find it on YouTube anymore T__T But it was the performance when Eunhyuk, Donghae and Sungmin danced to a remix of Sorry Sorry in the beginning, then the other members entered through this big stage door setup behind them. That performance was just absolutely mindblowing <3 If the picture above isn't enough indication of how pumped they were (look at the look on Hyuk's face, omg) then I don't know what. XD
Shindong Is Getting Married!
Garnering much interests for losing 20kg early last year, Super Junior ShinDong revealed that he had gone on a diet so as to get together with his girlfriend, who broke up with him, again.
ShinDong talked about his girlfriend, 2 years younger than him, that on SBS Strong Heart aired on 6th July. He explained, “To say the truth, my girlfriend is a junior at college. I’m in the class of 04 and she is in the class of 06. I did not meet my girlfriend until graduation. I received my graduation album and I was asked if I received my TA and I joked “Can I choose from here?’. So there was this photo of my girlfriend in the album, and when I saw it, I said ‘this is the one’ and I asked for the professor to link us up.”
ShinDong said, “We were going out for about 1 year when we told our parents about it but they objected so we broke up. Back then my weight was 104 kg, and it was hard gaining weight. I guess it was because I kept eating.”
He continued, “So I started my diet and shed 24 kg. To say the truth, after I broke up with my girlfriend, I had a phone conversation with her, and she made an unreasonable request for me to loose weight. I lost 10 kg but she refused to get back with me. So I lost another 10 kg and in all I lost 20 kg, and finally she got back with me.”
Also on the show that day, ShinDong revealed that he is currently preparing to get married with his girlfriend. And he did a video message to his girlfriend on the show, “I have not proposed properly to you yet. Nari ah, the thing I feel the most after I’ve met you is that without you I feel heartache. And I feel for the first time that if there is you, I would feel happy always. Will you be with me happily forever? Will you marry me?”
ShinDong also did a video message to both their parents, “I have confidence. Because I have confidence that we will be happy forever, please approve and bless us.”

Everyone on SJ-World is happy for him, but am I the only one who is bothered by this? Why do I get the feeling that Nari takes Shindong for granted so often? Shindong, after having proposed to her, mentioned on a show that she was ignoring him after his proposal... and this news.. that she broke up with him because of his weight is unsettling, to say the least.
I'm one of those people who isn't possessive over the boys. If they get girlfriends, so be it! If they're happy, I'm happy. It's easy to say, I know, but they deserve to love and be loved for real. I may not be possessive, but I am protective. (My sister and I were talking about this recently) I don't like keeping them all to myself; but I do have a problem when someone likes them for the wrong reasons, and I get rattled when a girl abuses their kind nature. (case in point: ISF, which I will talk about in another entry)
So for me to read this about Nari.. it speaks a lot about her character. I want the best for Shindong and I actually feel that he is the most susceptible to heartaches. She's pretty and he probably thinks she's a good catch, and he'll probably do whatever it takes to keep her happy - and this worries me. I don't want Shindong bending over backwards and working so hard just to please someone. That someone should love him for him; Not his celebrity status, not his idol connections, not his weight.
Don't get me wrong, I want him to get married. I really do. I'm real happy that he's found someone to call his own, but I'm just afraid that he's settling for a pretty girl who reciprocates his feelings.

Day Eight
The 8th Day of the KPOP meme: A KPOP song you know all the words to
It's gotta be Sorry Sorry or Marry U, for me. I'm familiar with a LOT of Super Junior songs but I know Marry U & Sorry Sorry so well that I can sing it to a Korean and they would think I spoke the language. XD To be honest, the first time I heard a Korean song (it was Pick Up The Phone by Mina, if I'm not mistaken) I thought that it'd be extremely difficult to familiarize myself with the words. At that time, I was into Taiwanese Pop and the words were easy to pick up because it's monosyllabic. Anyway, I can't believe it but now, I've become comfortable with singing to hangul and it's much easier to familiarize myself with Korean lyrics.. I guess I got used to it? XD It took me a while to memorize It's You even after listening to it so many times but I kind of memorize No Other already. XD

For Kangin
“Have you ever been in love? Horrible isn't it? It makes you so vulnerable. It opens your chest and it opens up your heart and it means that someone can get inside you and mess you up. You build up all these defenses, you build up a whole suit of armor, so that nothing can hurt you, then one stupid person, no different from any other stupid person, wanders into your stupid life...You give them a piece of you. They didn't ask for it. They did something dumb one day, like kiss you or smile at you, and then your life isn't your own anymore. Love takes hostages. It gets inside you. It eats you out and leaves you crying in the darkness, so simple a phrase like 'maybe we should be just friends' turns into a glass splinter working its way into your heart. It hurts. Not just in the imagination. Not just in the mind. It's a soul-hurt, a real gets-inside-you-and-rips-you-apart pain. I hate love.” - Neil Gaiman
.. And it's true. Neil Gaiman is one of my favorite authors and he captured heartache perfectly. It was a long time since I cried that hard, the day Kangin went to the army, July 5th. I must be a masochist because while I was looking through the heartbreaking photos of Kangin and the boys, I had my iPod plugged in and I was listening to 잠시만Goodbye (A Short Journey). I was bawling my eyes out and cried until my heart hurt; It was painful, a ripping pain, a heart burn. A real soul-hurt. There's not much I can say about the other day that hasn't already been said, but for the record, I'll wait.
Today when the sun sets and the moon rises again, it's still the same
Don't ever think nothing's going to change with you gone.
You've left a hole and we'll patiently wait for that void to be filled when you return.
Oh why is my heart changing this fast,
Your appearance that resembled the blue sky rains
And when you return, we'll shower you with love and support,
and show you the best and most overwhelming sapphire blue sea.
In the past when you did whatever you wanted and was foolish, you who we embraced amidst everything, are really precious. My heart that loved you, our eyes that saw you.. we'll wait.

Dear Anonymous
Stumbled upon this secret on a Tumblr blog. For the record, I don't think they're faking their smiles. Super Junior's personality is the type to smile even amidst all the drama. They're a lighthearted, goofy group that take life as it is. Their energetic, bubbly, and this 'new' concept isn't new at all, because this is who they are. If anything, what's "fake" isn't their smiles, but the shirt lifting, abs-bearing Bonamana concept. But don't get me wrong, I loved the Bonamana concept as well because it was something Super Junior never did before. They were manlier, and sexier, and as a fan, I appreciated it a lot XD But No Other is like going back to how they really are, and it's very reminiscent of old songs like Haengbok, and Miracle. I don't know about you, but this is the Super Junior I know and love. This isn't fake one bit. :)
P.S. I do feel bad for the Hottests; If I were a Hottest, I wouldn't exactly want the group I love to be singing about how they'll "be okay without you." I respect 2PM and actually think they get along well with Super Junior, and I also happen to think that it's time people got over all the Jay drama.

Day Seven
DAY 7: A K-POP SONG THAT MAKES YOU CRY
I am one of those people who cries over the smallest things. I don't mean that I cry over petty things; Petty is different from what I mean by 'the smallest things.' I don't cry over a broken nail or a failed quiz, but I do cry over songs, all the time. In the past month there have been four K-Pop songs that made me cry. (Well, one doesn't count because I cried more over the characters' acting in the MV)
I'm a rebel and I don't want to pick just one. \o/ Get a box of tissues ready, if you're the kind of person who can easily connect to a song.
1. Don't Love by FT Island (사랑하지마요)
Hongki's voice is like a crying violin; it has so much emotion that you don't even need the English translations to tell you that he's singing about his heart breaking into a million pieces. His voice was enough for me to shed a few tears; but the English translations on the screen of the video made me literally bawl my eyes out.
My favorite line: Don't love, goodbye always comes.
2. Cold Hearted Man by TRAX (가슴이 차가운 남자)
When I loaded this video early this year (because Heenim is in it), I didn't get to watch it. At that time, Heenim wasn't my favorite member (that'd be an understatement) and I hated his beggar hair. So the first few seconds put me off, and I didn't give it a chance. (Regret, regret) Recently, I was researching on Heenim videos (Because, well, he's kind of one of my favorites now, lol XD) and I came across the video of him singing and playing the piano on an episode of Family Outing. I fell in love with the song and researched on it, and I realized that it was the very same video Heenim was in back in January. I watched it, and I cried. I think one of the main reasons why I cried was because he was crying. He rarely shows emotion, and the feelings he was showing in the video were painful to watch... because it was around the same time Hangeng slapped a big fat lawsuit on SM. Now, I don't know about you, but those tears in the video, to me, are very very real.
3.여행Goodbye (A Short Journey) by Super Junior
Favorite lines:
Today when the sun sets and the moon rises again, it's still the same.
When I did whatever I wanted and was foolish, you who embraced all of that are really precious.

Under Construction
YAY! I'm finished editing it! It's COMPLETELY different from my last one, but I really like it :) PLUS, it's CSS based (unlike the HTML based Minihompy layout) so everything is easy to edit. :) Which one do you think is better, this one or the last one? XD

Day Six
Day 6: Your favorite k-pop song from your favorite girl group
2NE1: Stay Together
Alright, alright. So 2NE1 isn't my favorite girl group... but I don't exactly have a favorite girl group. I admire 2NE1 for their fashion sense, though XD I like Stay Together and it's just a really well-produced song. Give it a listen and see what I mean! :D
Day Five
Day 5: Your favorite k-pop song from your favorite guy group
Okay this is a really tough one. There are a bajillion songs of Super Junior that I absolutely adore and it's impossible to pick just one! DX But since Super Junior isn't our typical guy group, I'll just say my favorite song for every sub-group :) Fair enough? :DSJ-Main: Marry U
Without a doubt, it's gotta be Marry U. I love Shining Star, Good Person, Thank You, and a LOT of other songs that sound more current, are less cheesy and are more suited to my musical taste.. but Marry U is really special to me because it was the song that made me fall in love with Super Junior. It sealed my being a fan of theirs, and after watching the SS1 Marry U DVD cut of the song, I was just blown away and I realized that being in this fandom means so much more than just pretty faces and awesome music. So it's gotta be Marry U, for me. :)SJ-K.R.Y: Let's Not
I am in love with a LOT of K.R.Y songs (I even dedicated an entry to my favorite songs from the sub-group) but then Let's Not sticks out for me. It's just really pure, raw emotion, and even without knowing the English translation, I knew, right off the bat, that the song was about heartbreak. Not to mention, I get goosebumps every time I hear K.R.Y sing it. Ugh, this song is just beautifully heart-wrenching.SJ-M: Super Girl
I gotta be honest; SJM is the sub-group I listen to the least. I think it's because of the language they sing in, I'm no longer used to hearing small syllables and just generally Mandarin in a song. (I used to love Fahrenheit, lol) I prefer them singing in Korean, that's all. My favorite SJM song is definitely Super Girl. It's the typical choice, but for me the song is just so fun and electronic, and an all-around mood enhancer. When it comes on in my iPod shuffle I immediately feel like dancing, really XD And seeing them perform it live was just mind-blowing. The arena was in party mode, for real XDSJ-Happy: You & I
Last but not the least, my favorite sub-group! I've always had an inclination to listen to happy songs, even back when I didn't know Super Junior. I loved bouncy, light and free music, the kind you'd bop your head to instantly upon hearing it. My favorite SJ-Happy song, hands down, is You & I. Must I explain myself? The song is such a mood lifter. And it warms my heart, just listening to it. I wish they had made it their title track, instead of Cooking Cooking. I love Cooking Cooking and Pajama Party but I feel like the former was the weakest song in their mini album. Hm, maybe because it sticks? XD anyway, veering off topic already. So thus concludes Day 5. I'll be writing Day 6 in a while; I've gotta catch up because I haven't been blogging lately, lol 8D
Beautiful
Whoever said Heenim couldn't sing? The boy can sing, it's just that he needs to believe in himself more. Heenim is the type of person that hates to fail, and because of his fear of failure, he'd rather not try... but this video is proof that he can pull off a song if he just gave it a real shot. Personally, I like Heenim's voice quality more than some other Super Junior members who get more singing time; He just needs to work on his consistency/stability, and I think he can actually give some members a run for their money.
Watch the video to see what I mean. He is amazing ♥

Day Three
Day 3: Your ultimate k-pop guy bias
Lee Hyukjae

This is easy. Without batting an eyelash, Lee Hyukjae wins by a landslide. ♥ There is nothing I don't love about Eunhyuk, not even his smelly feet, his conventional way of thinking -- everything about him, from his flaws, strengths to his weaknesses, I love. Precisely why I am so hooked on this boy is because he is incredibly imperfect. He makes mistakes, he's a blabbermouth, he is such a picky eater (which resulted in him not fully experiencing the cuisine in Paris). He cries too much, he's got a gummy smile, he's got eye wrinkles, plus, he's such a fail at love.
...But he only talks a lot because he likes to say what's on his mind, he only picks food he already knows because the taste of home and familiarity is comforting to him. He cries so much over the little things, and cries even more when push comes to shove, because he is a man who is extremely in touch with his feelings, and any tugging on his heartstrings automatically sends a stimulus to his tear ducts. His gummy smile lights up his whole face. It's impossible to not smile along with him. And eye wrinkles only mean that his smile is genuine, that it even reaches his eyes... that's why they twinkle, really.
I'm not even going to get started on how he is such a cute dork, how his humor is so natural that it never fails to make me laugh every single time, how he is such an amazing dancer. Or how much he's a skilled rapper, and how he sings better than he lets on. Or how his jawline makes me melt, or his rare dimple in the corner of his mouth, or his eyes. It's all of the above and more, thank you very much.
But one of the things I love most about this Wonder Boy is that he is somebody who loves, and loves immensely. Friendship, love, brotherhood - these are things that plastic surgery can't mend or create, or something how many hours of working out in the gym can make. It's innate; Hyukjae is someone who has a great deal of love, laughter and life in his heart, which made it so easy for him to enter mine.
So I'm writing this to the boy that my heart beats oh, oh, only for. Lee Hyukjae ♥

Day One & Day Two
I was browsing through LiveJournal and I stumbled upon this thing that people do. It was the first time I ever encountered it so I don't know what it is exactly, but it's called a meme. Kind of like a survey of sorts. A 30-day Kpop meme, to be exact. It looked like fun so I decided that I'd try it out for 30 consecutive days. :)

I like the last picture in particular because it's the most recent picture where they were all complete. It's from the Boys in City photobook shot on location in Hong Kong.

Can't wait for tomorrow's meme! This is exciting 8D
Day 1: Your favorite KPop Guy Group
Super Junior
(Okay, as if it wasn't obvious XD)

I like the last picture in particular because it's the most recent picture where they were all complete. It's from the Boys in City photobook shot on location in Hong Kong.Day 1: Your favorite KPop Girl Group
Davichi & Lee Hyori
I don't really listen to any girl groups, mainly because a lot of them have teensy weensy voices that I can't stand most of the time. :/ But I do appreciate and admire these female KPop artists.
Davichi has amazing vocals, which are very different from most female KPop artists. They can belt out really high notes without even flinching, and are on key 100% of the time in their live performances. They don't have to bank on their looks or dances; their voices alone are more than enough.
Lee Hyori, is probably the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. She's absolutely perfect; If I had the chance to look like someone, I'd definitely pick her. Why she's my favorite female KPop artist isn't because of her looks, though. It's because she has accomplished so much and has managed to stay in the music industry for so long as a solo artist, which, in my opinion, is much harder than being in a group. Her stage presence is amazing, her dancing is far better than a lot of girl groups out there, and she can sing... much better than most people think. I just have a lot of respect for how she was able to stay relevant in the KPop industry even after 12 years.

Inanimate Object
I came across a thread in SJ-World, and I fount it to be quite interesting.
Q: If you could be a lifeless object to any SJ member for a day, what object will you be?
Me: Hmm. My first thought was a towel //dirty thoughts// but as I thought of it some more, I'd really like to be their cushion or a blanket. Cushion because at the end of the day, it's comforting to lie down and just rest, and for me, I'd really be life's winner if the boys could come home and find home when they lie down and sleep. Cushion because I want to be the nest that holds them ♥ If I were to be a blanket, it'd be because I wish to envelope them and make them feel safe. Personally, I can't sleep without a blanket regardless of the weather, because it makes me feel safe. I want to be their safety blanket. ♥

Feels Just Like Christmas
Let me start off by saying that I have the most amazing godfather in the history of amazing godfathers. Our uncle lives in South Korea as an airline pilot. Some time ago, he asked my sisters and I what Super Junior merchandise we wanted but didn't own. To be honest, we don't own a lot since not everything's available here. There's still so many albums we have yet to buy (Super Junior Happy, Super Junior M albums, etc) but we told him that we wanted EITHER the Super Show 1 Live DVD Album or the Boys in City Photobook + DVD because we knew that there was no way in hell they'd be available where we're from. So we let that simmer in his head and all this time, we thought that he was going to buy either of the two. Early this morning (or better yet, 12 noon) I was still asleep and dreaming of Super Junior when my younger sister barged into the room and started screaming excitedly. She was extremely ecstatic, the way she is when it's Christmas time. She said that the package from our uncle arrived, and that it was heavy. I woke up immediately and the three of us all opened it up together. We were stunned, very grateful, and very very happy! Instead of just getting us one thing, he gave us (see first photo):
Super Show 1 Live DVD + Photobook (included)
Boys in City Season 3 in Hong Kong Photobook (420+ pages) + Eng Subbed DVD
2 Super Junior posters (1 Bonamana, 1 Boys in City)
4JIB Bonamana
The first photo shows the new stuff we got courtesy of our uncle. In the second photo: New stuff + SorrySorry Asia Deluxe Edition, Super Show 2 Live Album, Sorry Sorry ver. C
So... till the Super Show 2 DVD? *wink* We're buying it with our money, of course. XD We wouldn't want to bleed our uncle dry now, would we? XD
Bonus photos we just HAD to take. You've seen them before most probably, but they're worth re-posting. :) From Boys in City Photobook:

From the Super Show 1 Photobook. We were literally screaming NOOOOO when we saw the photos XD Pretty odd, considering we've watched the YT vids of the dance before.

I Want To
There are so many things I want to blog about but then I just don't know where to start. I want to talk about Sungmin and how he's been so different lately. His self-esteem just seems so below average lately, it's worrisome. -_- I've been wanting to talk about Kyuhyun too, his ear surgery, him being a university student at the same time, a full time idol group member. I want to talk about Jungsoo and how Heenim is just so present nowadays. Like he actually wants to be there. I want to talk about Kangin and how I miss him so much, so much so that I save every photo I find of him. I want to talk about Hangeng and whatwhywhenhowwhere things became this way, or how I avoid any news about him. It hurts, it's painful, and I'm not a masochist so I'd rather not read news about him, lest I want to get all emotional. I want to talk about everything, yet I only get to writing nothing. *sigh* Soon. Hopefully.

This Isn't Good

This may be a lot or a little depending on the person, really. I know of some people who save practically every SJ picture they find, but I'm the type who only saves the essentials.. or those that are just OMG so so cute.
It was actually only recently that I organized the folder; It used to be a bajillion SJ photos, gifs, icons, videos, etc scattered all over the different folders on my laptop. I gathered them all together, sorted them out one by one. Extremely tedious, but it'd be impossible to find, say, an SJ Happy Photoshoot if ALL the files were in just one folder. It was totally ruining the point of saving things (because when I save a photo, it means I'd want to look for it later) and it was impossible to sift through the piles of files.
So for me, 3000+ files on Super Junior is too much. This isn't even all of it :/ No wonder my laptop is extremely slow. For purposes of discussion, it takes approximately 10 minutes to open Firefox, and even longer for PS to load. Good God, I should really stop saving every cute picture I come across. My computer is thisclose to spontaneously combusting, and if ever it does, I'd know why. O_o

Oh, Is It My Birthday Today?

... I have nothing to say, I don't know what to feel. I am so incoherent right now, I am surprised my fingers are actually typing and that my brain is transmitting "Type this" to my hands. I am very very shocked that I can even form grammatically correct sentences. I am not surprised that I've had 39819537 typos since I started typing.LEE HYUKJAE. WHY. HOW. WHEN. Oh God, my brain has officially turned to goo, the lights are off, nobody's home, I've got a few screws loose... *dead* Seriously, I can't even think straight. It's off to bed for me, because this isn't healthy. If I stare at those photos any longer than I already have I think I might just go into cardiac arrest. Good night, world. See you in the morning (that is, if I'm not already dead by then). I will edit this tomorrow, hopefully. Okay. Logging off now. Good night, Hyukjae. Sweet dreams, okay?

To The Wonder Boy Who's Got Stars In His Eyes
Seriously, how can a Wonder Boy like you be ill? I can't imagine you having to go through the ear pressure you have on long haul flights, it's just not fair to you. I'm glad that your surgery went well today, and I hope that you'll stay healthy all the time. Don't feel so bad that you'll still be in the hospital while your hyungs give their acceptance speech at Music Bank, lol 8D We'll miss you and get well soon.

Top Three KRY Songs
I know that a lot of people complain about KRY getting too many lines in songs, or dominating albums. To that, I will say, so what? It's totally well-deserved; they sing superbly. Other members dominate on the dancefloor (Eunhyuk, Donghae, Shindong) in variety (Leeteuk, Heenim, Kangin, Shindong) in acting/commercials (Siwon, Kibum, Heenim) and in musicals (Sungmin, Yesung). All KRY has is their singing, really. That's their forte, their comfort zone, their expertise. It's what they do best, and because they sing so amazingly, they're able to make up for the members who aren't amazing at it. They're the backbone of SJ, too, since they're first and foremost a singing group. I love listening to their songs as well; they're awesome lullabies 8D I don't mean that as a bad thing at all! I just mean that their voices are calming, soothing and just easy listening in general. Without further ado, here are my Top 3 KRY songs!
3. Nal Geyman Ijuhyo
I am in love with this song. The musical arrangement is seamless, and Kyuhyun, Yesung and Ryeowook blend extremely well in the amazing bridge. Their voices just overlapped together in the end and geared up together for the heartwrenching finale. The melody itself is so WOW that even a bad singer can look good singing it... so what more 3 talented ones?
2. Heartquake (Live ver. feat. Eunhyuk)
Alright so technically, it's not a KRY song. Intense is the only word to describe this song. I love how there's a calm before the storm... Eunhyuk raps in between and it's a balance from the emotional chorus, and bridge. That's not to say the raps are anything short of intense; In fact, I love the live version because there's just more emotion than in the recorded one. But the one thing I love most about this song is that everyone singing it FEELS it. There's so much raw emotion in each word and line... it's a gripping song, one that I never get tired of listening to.
1. Let's Not
I picked the one in ShimShimtapa because although it's imperfect, it has the most emotion. This, for me, is the most explosive and heartwrenching (I described Nal Geuman Ijuhyo as this, but Let's Not applies, too) KRY song, ever. The first time I heard it, I cried. From the violins and guitar in the beginning, to the piano giving way to Kyuhyun's cold and quiet voice, to Ryeowook's voice building up the chorus, to Yesung's emotional vocal performance -it's perfect. Just perfect. Without knowing the words, you'll know right off the bat that the song is about someone's heart breaking. And listening to it, it's like falling in love, then getting your heart broken, then falling in love all over again in the ending. It's an emotional experience that I think most people can relate to, and KRY was able to relay it with their AMAZING singing.
I guess what I love most about their songs is that they tell a story. In the beginning, it's quiet and relaxed, then the rising action comes in the refrain to the chorus. Then it builds up to the bridge, for the spectacular climax, and to the resolution. There's a flow, and it usually gives me goosebumps every time.

Back To The Music
Contrary to what some people think, Super Junior is very musically talented. They've got amazing songs - songs that dominate my Top 25 Most Played. They've permeated practically every genre there is; they've done pop, dance, rock, ballads and even trot. It's really difficult to pick which songs are my favorite, because a lot of the songs have different moods and emotions. Anyway, for my next entries I'll outline my Top 3 favorites per 'category' 8D

You Gotta Be Kidding Me
I found this post in a kpopsecret website, where KPOP fans post their hidden feelings about Korean artists anonymously. Tonight, I checked out the Eunhyuk tagged posts, because I was curious as to what people were saying about him, him being my bias and all. Then I found this:

Okay. So. This is the poster's opinion, and yes, we are all entitled to our own. I am not going to say her opinion is stupid because that is relative, and that's how she feels so it's okay. I'm not going to try and change anybody's mind, but I'm just going to say my two cents. This isn't directed at the one who posted this photo up, but to those fans who complain that Hyukjae has 'changed.'
Oh God, if you can't see that Eunhyuk is still the same emotional dorky gummy smiled Hyukjae you fell in love with, then you better think about your so called biasness. I'm seriously beginning to doubt if some fans would actually want their favorite to be a crybaby and be their goofball selves onstage (with thousands of non-fans watching) rather than show off all their hard work.
It's fans like these that make me wish we could weed out people in the fandom. They cling on to their idol and become so suffocating, and don't give them any room to grow. They attach themselves to a single image, to one concept of their favorite, and believe everything they want to believe about him, and when something changes, they throw a tantrum. They whine and complain that "he's changed, he's not the same guy I fell in love with." Oh wow, since when did a haircut change anything but the length of someone's hair? Since when did a six pack make someone any less of a person?
Fans like these might as well just say that they love the Don't Don Eunhyuk, or the Sorry Sorry Eunhyuk, if they're so attached to that one particular image.
Did it ever occur to you that maybe, just maybe, your bias doesn't want to be a skinny anchovy crybaby monkey anymore? You want your old Lee Hyukjae back? In case you've been living under a rock, your Lee Hyukjae isn't the guy we see doing Sorry Sorry solos, or Bonamana performances. That's Eunhyuk, that's his stage self. But whatever. Eunhyuk, Lee Hyukjae - they're both one and the same person, and he can be sexy and cute at the same time... and if you can't handle that, or if you just want one kiddie Eunhyuk for the rest of your life, you might as well switch to another fandom. Maybe you can like Peter Pan instead. He stays a kid forever.
I seriously don't understand fans who'd rather become a hindrance to their artists' growth, than be that leg up they need to succeed and achieve their dreams.

Dear Hyukjae
Today's been a heavy and depressing day. There's been so many news pieces coming out about SJ from their press conference that made me feel down... So this photo totally came as a pleasant surprise. Everything about it, from your smile, to your eyes we can make out from behind your glasses, Sungmin looking at you that way - I just want to freeze that moment. Can you stay happy like this forever? Sometimes I wish I could just take all the bad moments and erase them from your mind, just so you'll always be happy and smiling. Do you even have any idea how wonderful and infectious your smile is? I don't care if its gummy or if it makes you get eye wrinkles. Your smile is genuine, true, pure and free of pretenses. In Super Show, one of the moments I treasure the most (if not the most) wasn't the time you stood on top of the stairs in front of us, not even a foot apart. You stood there and reached out for a fan's Happy Birthday Hyuk sunglasses, but you know what? I wish you hadn't, because I wish I could've seen your eyes. I got to touch you, at last, but that moment cannot compare to the time you smiled at me (a big, genuine gummy smile) for a few seconds, which to me, seemed a lifetime. It was 5 seconds; I counted from the fancam, you were more than 5 meters away, you weren't holding my hand, but your smile was enough to make it my favorite moment. I'm blabbering right now, but I just felt this urge to blog about your smile.

When Pictures Fail
Oh my God Eunhyuk you are the biggest sweetheart. Cyworld entry ♥ Now I sort of wish you won't get Twitter, you seem to really like writing longer entries that are meaningful. Part of me feels like you don't see the point of Twitter XD I didn't until recently, but whatever floats your boat is fine with me ♥
And I can't believe how people thought you'd changed; you're still a big crybaby who has to hold back tears just seeing sapphire blue balloons in the audience, just because crying will ruin your image and your eyeliner. And you're still the insecure goofball we all met in Full House and EHB, who doesn't think he shines like a bright jewel; you seriously have no idea how appreciated and loved you are. ♥

The Aftermath
It's just been how many days into the comeback itself and I am exhausted.. but it's a happy kind of exhaustion, the kind after a long day playing sports or shopping or whatever it is you like to do. Which is, in my case, spazz and gawk at the pretty.
In this blog post, I'll outline the Top 5 members who've soared and stood out (so far) in this comeback.
Exhibit A: Mr. Lee Hyukjae
I watched our Super Show 1 DVD a few days ago, and in a span of 2 years, this boy has grown and bloomed (for lack of a better word) to a man. It's not just the muscles or the abs (no complaints there, lol) but it's just his aura. His vibe and confidence is just so alluring. He emits this glow that sucks you in and makes you wonder how you could've possibly lived without it for so long. Personally, I prefer this picture to the one showing his abs. No specific reason, he just looks 'otherworldly,' to quote my sister. I mean, any guy who can make a bahag/skirt/piece of cloth worn over a pair of pants look good, is definitely not a regular human being. He is my bias, after all, but even if he wasn't, he'd still be on this list.Exhibit B: Park Jungsoo
Hello, Jaejoong 2.0, hello TeukAbs, hello, Calvin Klein boxers, hello, oiled chest. I feel like a pervert just by looking at the photo, so I shall say no more and leave you to stare at the god before you... so. Are you sweating yet? I know I am! XDExhibit 3: Cho Kyuhyun
Our beloved maknae is a Dancing Hole no more. When it comes to dancing, he's gone from zero to hero in a matter of 2 years. Who knew he had it in him, the awkward, gangly, math olympiad who could sing the phonebook well if he wanted to. He was the last member to join, and barely got as much training as other members (ex. Eunhyuk, Donghae, Eeteuk) so all it took was a few years to train him and boom! We've got another dancing hero on our hands. I highly doubt he'll surpass Eunhyu, Donghae or Shindong with dancing (since their skills are pretty innate, if you ask me) but he sure can give Sungmin and Eeteuk now a run for their money. Have I mentioned he can sing? In my opinion, Kyuhyun is one helluva member. He's one of the Top 3 singers, and just now he's become one of the main. (We shoulda seen it coming with the MJ performance + Star Dance Battle XD) Plus, he's been blessed with striking good looks. (In person, he is absolutely DIVINE.) He's incredibly well-rounded, just like Donghae. Triple threat, anyone?Exhibit D: Kim Ryeowook
The maknaes are on top for this comeback, and Ryeowook is no exception. This for me, is probably his defining look, just as Sorry Sorry's was Eunhyuk's. Why does Ryeowook shine in this album? If this picture wasn't enough proof, his solo will certainly convince you. I am totally in love with his solo, and I can't believe how much he's improved in dancing as well. (case in point, Bonamana MV) Like Kyuhyun, Ryeowook was one of the members who rarely got as much training, as he was only discovered in a singing contest. This guy is blooming right before our very eyes, our lovable blurness (I am STILL at a loss on how they came up with that nickname XD) Ryeowookie.Exhibit E: Kim Heechul
A few months ago, if you had asked me what rank Heenim had in my heart, I would've shrugged and said that he was one of the last. His absence and indifference in 3jib, his diva ways and cross-dressing tendencies put me off a bit, to be honest. When I found out that in SS2, Heenim would be in front of our section, I whined and groaned because he was my least favorite member. (with the exception of Kibum) Maybe it was fate or it was providential that he would sit in front of us, because it was only after SS2 that I truly opened my heart to him. I finally understood why a lot of people put him first instead of other members. To add to that, he got a Twitter account, and his Tweets amused me to no end. He was adorable and endearing, he was down-to-earth and reachable. I watched some YS videos and I became proud of him. He appeared on StrongHeart and said what he was feeling, and I felt guilty and pathetic for even doubting his wanting to be part of the group. Then the Bonamana MV came out, and I saw him giving his all in the dance segments, jumping about even when he has a metal rod on his leg. This Kim Heechul, i thought to myself, was no quitter. So in a span of two months, Heenim has crept up from number 12 on list to Top 5. God, i love this boy(now), and I feel really sorry for doubting him and not giving him a chance. So thus concludes my entry about the Top 5 members who've been standing out. Of course, all the members have their own appeal and I love them all to bits and pieces. It's just that it'd be too long to write here, it's getting really late. But one of these days, real soon, I'll write about the other members I didn't mention, and talk about how much I love each of them, yeah?
